In fact, I am going to share my experience with two of their top-notch models – the Breville BJE430SIL the juice Fountain cold vs the Breville BJE200XL compact juice fountain. Both appliances feature amazing qualities but I want to help you find the one that can satisfy all of your juicing needs.

When buying a new juicer and investing a decent amount of money into it, you should get familiar with different brands on the market first. You need a good machine but also a good brand, which Breville certainly is. This company has been conquering the market for 88 years now. They manufacture a number of small kitchen appliances, including juicers, of superior quality at affordable prices.
Let’s Compare Breville Juicers
In my opinion, again, Breville is a reliable, noteworthy brand. This company produces juicing fountains, as they like to name their machines. Now, tell me, what is the first thing you think of at the mention of this term? Rivers of juice, right? Well, that’s exactly what you can expect with the Breville BJE430SIL the juice Fountain cold and the Breville BJE200XL juice fountain but I’ll discuss it all in a bit.
Let me just explain the type of these two juicing fountains before I start explaining the differences. Both the BJE430SIL and the BJE200XL fall into the category of centrifugal juicers. This type of juicer operates at super speeds, produces a decent amount of yield, and takes very little effort to clean, which are its biggest pros. However, although they are of the same type, the following features set them apart.

1. Power
The Breville BJE430SIL generates a lot of power, 850 watts to be exact. The very thought of this already speaks enough about how forceful this machine is. To be honest, this is one of the most potent juicers I’ve used. It can process even the toughest ingredients, including ice and frozen fruits. I appreciate it doesn’t heat up despite the fact it generates tons of power.
The BJE200XL comes with a 700-watt motor, which makes it slightly less powerful than the BJE430SIL. However, in my experience, this appliance is not compatible with frozen ingredients and ice while it works great with tough ingredients such as carrots and ginger. It doesn’t generate heat either so you can have your peace of mind the machine will produce cool, crisp juice.
2. Speed Settings
As I already mentioned, centrifugal juicers operate at high speeds, which is the case with the BJE200XL and BJE430SIL as well. However, if you ask me, the speed can be a good thing but not necessarily. I like it when I can have my juice ready in the blink of an eye but, on the other hand, I am aware that processing ingredients at great speeds does involve a certain degree of heat, which can ruin some of the nutrients from the juice.
The BJE200XL operates at 14,000 rounds per minute (RPM). The very thought of this speed makes me feel dizzy! If you ask me, a juicer operating at this speed could be a good pick for people who work under pressure.
For instance, if you are running a business – café, restaurant, or bar and have a constant need for fresh juice, this model could be a good pick. Your customers won’t have to wait, which is extremely important if you want to build a good reputation. This model can meet the needs of the beyond-average user. Yet, the speed affects the juice quality, which could be a con if you are on the hunt for nutrients-packed glasses.
And then, the BJE430SIL features 2-speed electronic control. You can choose between low and high speeds – 1,300 or 6,5000 RPM. Do you know what this means? This model gives you a chance to preserve more nutrients as it doesn’t exceed reasonable speeds. Use a lower setting for soft fruits and leafy greens and high speed for denser, tougher ingredients. Breville named this model “juice fountain cold”, and I only understood why when I started using it.
Obviously, the latter model could be a better pick if you are looking for a centrifugal juicer that won’t destroy vitamins and enzymes from your juice. Still, the BJE200XL is more than two times faster than the BJE430SIL, which may be important if you are addicted to drinking juices daily or if you need a commercial machine.
3. Yield
Although centrifugal juicers typically produce less juice than masticating juicers, I must admit Breville did a great job when it comes to the BJE200XL and BJE430SIL. Both machines work great with tough veggies and fruits, citruses, and leafy greens. You can expect circa 60-70% of yield when processing some of the foodies from these categories. Consider this a high score for a centrifugal juicer.
Still, the BJE430SIL produces higher yield with grasses while the BJE200XL doesn’t seem to get along with pineapples and ginger for some reason (at least from my experience).
4. Container Capacity
Both models come with juice jugs and pulp containers. However, their capacities are incomparable. The Breville BJE200XL boasts 0.8qt juice jug capacity and 1.6qt pulp container capacity. The BJE430SIL can store 3.6qt of pulp and 2.9qt of juice. It all depends on how much juice you typically extract per session. I simply prefer larger containers although I am making juice for myself only most of the times. You just never know who of your family and friends might drop by for a glass of fresh juice.
5. Pulp
Now, I already told you both models come with pulp containers. Does this mean there is no pulp at all in your juice? Well, not exactly. I prefer smooth and clear juicers but none of these two units could offer me that type of experience.
However, the BJE430SIL seems to leave more pulp in the juice than the BJE200XL. The pulp it produces is quite wet so it slips into the juice and makes it more textured and dense. Although the latter juicer does leave some pulp in the juice as well, I can still tolerate it. It all depends on whether you like your juices pulpy or not.
6. Material
One of the factors that affect the durability of a juicer is the material. Manufacturers use stainless steel, plastic, and metal for making juicers. Breville made their BJE200XL out of plastic and metal while the BJE430SIL is all plastic.
Now, if the plastic Breville used wasn’t BPA-free, I would probably never consider buying one of their juicers. Luckily, they did. Why is it important? Plastic may release toxic materials into your juice during the extraction process. This can spoil the taste of your beverage and make it go bad within a day (even if you store it in the fridge).
BPA-free plastic is 100% safe for use and you can rest assured it won’t mess up your glass of goodness. However, it is not as durable as its counterpart. The BJE430SIL is a combo of plastic and metal, which extends its lifespan but affects the juice taste a bit. Although this didn’t happen all the time, I did recognize a very slight metallic taste in my juice.
7. Ease of Cleaning
I was pleasantly surprised when I received my Breville BJE430SIL. It came with a cleaning brush, which made it easier to reach the narrow parts of the machine. Then, after a few years, I decided to try out the Breville BJE200XL, and I got another cleaning brush. So thoughtful of this brand, right?
No doubt, both juicers are fairly easy to clean. You can throw most of the parts of the Breville BJE430SIL into the dishwasher – juice jug, filter bowl, juicer cover, etc. The same applies to its counterpart. Still, as the BJE200XL comes with several metal parts, you’d better clean it right away after each use. Otherwise, you may spot some stains on the metal, while there is no staining with the BJE430SIL, even if you don’t wash it immediately after use.
8. Weight
Although the difference in weight is rather small here, you may still find it worth mentioning. The Breville BJE430SIL weighs 11 pounds while the BJE200XL weighs 9.68 pounds. So, this minor difference in 1,32 pounds can matter only if you prefer lighter models (no matter how lighter they are), for instance – if you are a lady. Either way, both appliances are relatively lightweight and I never had an issue moving them around.
9. Countertop Space
If you care about your countertop space, this section might be crucial. Yes, I said the difference in weight between the BJE200XL and BJE430SIL is almost trivial but that doesn’t apply to dimensions of each. The latter features 14.5 x 10.5 x 17.6 inches and the BJE200XL 7.4 x 10.4 x 12.7 inches.
Now, it doesn’t seem like a big deal either at first either. However, the design of these two models is different. The BJE200XL is vertical while the BJE430SIL is a horizontal juicer, and this can make a whole lot of a difference in your kitchen.
In case you have a small, narrower kitchen or if you are low on the countertop space, a vertical juicer would be a better choice. It doesn’t take up precious space on the counter and it is easier to move around the kitchen. The BJE430SIL is bulkier and a lot wider than the BJE200XL.

10. Warranty
Breville provides a 1-year warranty for their juicers. To be honest, I would prefer a longer warranty. It simply gives me peace of mind knowing my juicer is insured for longer in case of defect. Speaking of durability, I am still very pleased with each.
My BJE200XL has been a loyal kitchen buddy for almost 9 years now. Although I have been using the BJE430SIL for no more than 4 years, it still never failed me. If I were you, I would have no doubts about either of these two models. Just set your priorities regarding the size, juicing capacity, and price and you won’t have a hard time making a decision.
11. Price
The only thing left to discuss about the Breville juicers is their price. The difference between these two models is huge when it comes to price tags. In fact, the BJE430SIL is almost twice as expensive as the BJE200XL. Do I find this significant difference reasonable? Yes and no.
This juicer does feel like a higher-end model and performs great with various types of ingredients. It is very powerful and efficient, yet – I think the BJE200XL is a bit underpriced here. It is not as aesthetically pleasing as its counterpart but almost stands shoulder to shoulder with it when it comes to performance.
